Introducing HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D Printing
Multi Jet Fusion is a new 3D printing process made available by technology giant HP (Hewlett Packard). This technology uses the same Powder Bed Fusion Process that SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) 3D printing uses; however offers a number of additional benefits.
Printing exclusively in a Nylon 11 material (with the exception of a Glass Filled variant), the MJF process offers brilliant mechanical properties as well as a 80 microns resolution surface finish. This means parts are not only mechanical reliable, robust and accurate, but the surface finish is great with minimal layer lines.
The below image demonstrates the quality of the surface finish you can expect:
Other benefits of the MJF process include:
Dense property profiles and high density parts
Excellent chemical resistance to oil, greases and alkaline
Great mechanical properties
Excellent surface finish
High dimension accuracy
Ability to print intricate details
Rather than attempt to explain the workings of the MJF process in this post, we have shared the handy 'how it works' video that HP have created.
Print My Part are excited to be able to offer the MJF process to our customers, opening doors to a wide range of applications where mechanical properties and exceptional surface finish can be combined to offer production ready components.
In our opinion, this process is a revelation for the 3D printing world, offering all the features we desire from a 3D printed model, without compromise.
